Kudos to City Council for considering single

Humans. The only creatures on this third rock from the sun gifted with free will. Abundant kudos to City Council for taking the urgent, sane and forward-facing step toward a more sustainable future for Cheyenne and the entire state, and many thanks to WTE for putting Ms. Hall’s piece on the front page of their Aug. 14 issue, above the fold, where it most certainly belongs.

We need to begin to keep reusable bags with us as we go about our day, or pay a dime now while we still have viable options. Without a single doubt, there’ll be a price to pay for wanton disregard for the vital balances of the natural world.

One clueless resident blatantly considers the matter “liberal trash” and government overreach (you know, like with seat belts), and there are other selfish, senseless excuses online. Fact is, our progeny must count on us to do what’s best for us all.

Councilmen Johnson, Esquibel and every supporting member are to be commended and heartily encouraged to do what’s right.

What would you commit to do to help maintain essential life support systems on this exquisite planet? Just how much would you be willing to do for Mother Earth? If not you, who? If not now, when? What say you?
