The Harrisburg School District is allowing students to wear clothes of their choosing this year.

The district says it changed its dress code policy to cut costs of buying uniforms, a student desire to have choices and the availability of uniform clothing in all sizes in the area.

In a survey conducted by the Harrisburg School District, about 75% of the approximately 1,000 parents and students who responded said they were in favor of moving away from a school uniform.

There are still some limitations to the dress code, as students are not permitted to wear the following items:

Although headwear isn't permitted, you can wear them if they are deemed medically necessary or for religious reasons.
